Hatha is the foundational basis of most physical yoga styles. It focuses on holding individual physical postures (asanas) while practicing deliberate breathing techniques (pranayama). Compared to fast-paced Vinyasa flows, Hatha moves at a slower, more deliberate pace.

Holding asanas while focusing on breath and alignment physically maximises joint mobility and muscular endurance, mentally anchors you in the present to reduce stress, and neurologically balances your nervous system.

Expect a balanced, steady session. A typical 60-minute class includes a gentle warm-up, a series of standing and seated postures held for several breaths each, breathing expansion exercises (pranayama), and a final deep relaxation (Savasana).

Yes, it is perfect for beginners. Because postures are held for longer, you have plenty of time to learn the correct alignment, set up your props, and get comfortable with each movement without feeling rushed.

A Yin Yoga class is a slow, meditative practice where floor poses are held passively for 5 to 10 minutes to target deep connective tissues and joints.

You will need your own props, as this is an online class that will be taken out of the comfort of your own home on video call. They are not required, however, highly recommended as the more props the better! to help your body relax into the stretch whilst remaining supported.

Some props you may like to use:

- bolsters

- yoga blocks

- blankets

- eye pillow

- sand bag

- yoga strap

- extra pillows

Some primary benefits are:

- Personalised alignment correction,

- Customised pacing, and accelerated skill progression

- Hands on assistance to ensure alignment is correct

- A sequenced practice to match your energy levels and abilities that given day

Unlike crowded studio settings, a one-on-one session with a teacher ensures that they can help you to move in a way that is nourishing for your body which is safe and aligned, ensuring that you are doing asanas correctly.

This helps with progression in your yoga practice and overall confidence when attending yoga classes or practicing on your own.
